This is a professional training working through a series of modules, working on different elements of embroidery and professional practise.

The first year is to complete your Certificate, year 2 your Diploma and year 3 your Advanced Diploma.

The course also covers some basic conservation and restoration training and how to set up your own small business in embroidery or work within a professional capacity. Modules are released as each person finishes and has submitted their piece for assessment, alongside a written assessment piece, design drawings and stitch guides.

Each module has 8 taught sessions and the equivalent in work on own days for stitching and then a further 2 taught sessions on design and history of each technique. Each piece will require mounting properly to conservation standards, we will teach you how before submission. Certificate covers, crewel work, black work, tapestry stitches, beginners gold and beginners silk shading along with design, colour theory and mounting. We will also provide basic business training such as Etsy workshops, how to photograph your work, digital design and business law such as copyright rules, contracts and terms and conditions. 

Year 2 diploma covers, both white work modules (pulled and drawn, Broderie Anglaise & Richelieu), applique, advance silk shading, advanced goldwork, box construction, canvas shading, stump work, tassles and cords, creative metal, and Quilting (English, Italian & Trapunto).  

The third year includes, beading, tambour, both sides alike, fine white, advanced box, conservation and restoration skills. Along side branding, Public Relations, Social media training etc.

Level: This is a professional training. No experience is required, but you must have good English, vision and hand eye coordination.

Price: £1000 monthly if doing full time and £500 if part time. There is a discount if paying whole cert, dip or advance dip in advance, such as £11,000 per year or if all 3 paid for at once it is £30,000.

When: Some sessions run 10.00 – 16.00 others will run 18.00 to 20.00, others 19.00 to 21.00. All sessions are recorded and can be accessed if class is missed.
