This stunning class introduces students to the basic techniques in both the silk shading technique and the goldwork technique. Creating this amazing Art deco inspired tulip piece introduces students to the fundamentals of goldwork stitches, along with exploring the basics of silk shading. The piece is stitched on cotton velvet, using a selection of dmc stranded cottons and goldwork threads. There are several colourways to choose from.

Bookings for international students (USA & Australia) closes on 21st Sept 2023 for kits to be posted out and arrive in good time.

Bookings for UK and European students close on the 26th Sept 2023 to allow for kits to be posted out and arrive in good time.

Level: This is a perfect beginners course.

Included in the kit: The cotton velvet, all the dmc stranded cottons, goldwork padding materials needed, goldwork threads including japan thread, smooth purl, pearl purl, and bright check, along with the needles and a full set of written instructions and a mini velvet board.

Information: It is also recommended that you bring a pencil and note paper to class as well for any note you would wish to make.

The kit will be posted out to you in advance and includes all the materials needed. The only things you will need are a 10 inch ring frame, stand or seat attachment and your embroidery scissors. 

There will be plenty of time to ask the tutor any questions during the sessions and in advance of the class. All preparation information will be emailed to you along with an invitation to join the class on the day.

Attendees Outside the UK: This class will run from 7-9pm (19:00 – 21:00 hours) UK local time. If you are outside of the UK please check your local time, particularly if your location changes to/from Daylight Savings Time on a different schedule to the UK during October/November and March/April.
