Katarina Orolinova
Apprentice
I was born in Slovakia and started my passion in early childhood when I said to my parents that I wanted to become an artist and study in art school. My professional journey with textile started at 15 years old when I started attending School of Applied Arts, where I learned various traditional textile techniques and crafts from embroidery, Bobbin lace to loom weaving with influence of folk heritage. After SAA School I was admitted to Academy of fine Art and Design and after 6 years, I graduated with MA diploma in Applied Art with focus on textile. My focus were traditional textile techniques such as embroidery and bobbin lace translated in modern materials and techniques.
Moved to UK after graduation I met Chloe when I signed up for her crewel work embroidery course back in 2019.
After few lessons and the pandemic, I started as Apprentice in her Studio. Currently I am being retrained in couture embroidery.
Through my life I exhibited in Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria and here in UK.
